Being a SINK is amazing! Each month, we feature a member of our community to share what their single and childfree life really looks like, what brought them here, what they’ve discovered, and what belonging in a like-minded community has meant to them.
This month we are talking about being in community with other Single and Childfree Women and also what it means to take an international adventure together!
As a community, we went to Morocco in April of 2026 and it was life changing and healing in ways I didn't know I needed. You can also check out the podcast about it HERE. So, naturally, we are doing it again in 2027 and taking the party to...GREECE!
Today, we’re spotlighting ANNA from MAINE

Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from, what do you do, and what are a few things you'd want people to know about you?
I'm Anna, from Maine, 42, and absolutely adore being unfuckable by the standards of the patriarchy.
Are you a member of the SCF network? What is that experience like?
Yes! It is wonderful, supportive, and validating experience to be in community with so many women who understand my experience.
What made you decide to say "yes" to traveling to Morocco with a group of women you had never met before? Were you excited, nervous, or both?
I was so excited! I’m a big traveler, and have even been on group trips with strangers before, so the trip itself didn’t make me nervous. I had been to Marrakech before for just a couple days and hadn’t yet made it back to explore more of Morocco. So when Angela announced this trip and it was a chance to see more of the country it seemed like the perfect time to go back. With ALL women?! And no talking about kids or partners?! No condescension about my life?! HELL YES!

What surprised you most about traveling with a group of single, childfree women? How was it different from any other trip you've taken?
How fast we all fell in love. I’ve seen on other group trips that people bond fast. But this was next level. We all jumped to step three of getting to know each other: no feeling out how someone would react to your solo, childfree life. Just knowing we were all on the same page meant we got to the deeper stuff quicker and truly connected.
Those easy bonds on other trips have, for me, translated more to acquaintances after we’re home. The Morocco group chat is still popping, I’ve talked independently with lots of the women, discussed making future travel plans together, and I just spend this weekend with some of them. We really formed lasting friendships.
What was your favorite memory or experience from Morocco? Was there a moment that you'll never forget?
ATVing in the Sahara obviously, and standing outside the desert camp, looking at the stars and crying are top contenders. But I really think the meal we had at a Moroccan families home takes the cake. We laughed SO hard. Everyone at that table cried laughing. I don’t think I can convey how joyful that meal was. With women I’d known about three days.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was the conversations and simply "being" with one another. What stood out to you most about the women you traveled with and the connections you made?
They’re all incredible. They are all warm, fun, funny, empathetic, independent, strong, living vibrant lives. Everyone shared about themselves, and also listened to everyone else. They could offer advice or support without it feeling like they needed to “solve” something. I generally don’t open up quickly or easily. It takes time and consistency for me to get at all vulnerable. But they made it easy. This is why we all connected to deeply.
Did this trip change you in any way? Whether it was a new perspective, more confidence, a friendship, or something deeper, we'd love to hear about it.

This trip both inspired me and gave me more confidence. I’m a serious introvert so friendship is usually a slow burn for me. But this group all clicked immediately in a way that reminded me that the real ones get you.
If someone is thinking about joining one of our future trips but feels nervous because they don't know anyone, what would you say to them?
Do it! You will make friends once you’re there. Bare minimum, travel is transformative. But there’s a good chance you find at least some of your people.
Finally, finish this sentence: "This wasn't just a vacation. It was..."
A validating, Life changing, adventure.
Are you ready to join us on the next adventure to Greece September 10-19, 2027!??! AMAZING. We can't wait for you to join us! Visit the Type 2 Travel website HERE and book your spot!
The Single and Childfree community * exists: to create a space where single and childfree women don’t have to explain themselves, defend their choices, or shrink their lives to make others comfortable. Plus, being in community with women who have the bandwidth for your friendship is so healing.
If you’ve ever wondered whether anyone else feels the way you do: you’re about to see that you’re not alone. This is where you belong.
