How to Live Authentically Without Waiting for a Crisis

Our lives are filled with subtle and not-so-subtle reminders of absence. We see others celebrated for hitting traditional milestones—marriage, babies, family life—and we’re left asking ourselves: Am I missing something? Will I always be alone? Who is here for me if something goes wrong?  The fears show up everywhere: What if I lose my job? What if I get sick? What if no one is there for me when life gets hard? Why is my life considered less than others’?


It’s exhausting to live under that constant pressure. The world often frames us as “lacking,” as if joy, love, and fulfillment are reserved for those checking off traditional boxes. But here’s the truth: we don’t need a crisis to validate our existence. We don’t need tragedy to wake us up to our own lives. In fact, waiting for a breaking point is exactly what keeps us from living fully today.
