5 Things I Learned After Bringing 40 Single & Childfree Women Together

I'm still trying to find the words.
This weekend, 40 single and childfree women from across the country gathered in one room to celebrate lives that are so often overlooked, underestimated, or treated as if they're waiting for something else to begin.
Instead, I witnessed something extraordinary.
I saw women who were full of joy, purpose, freedom, laughter, adventure, generosity, and possibility. I watched complete strangers become friends, travel buddies, and future dinner dates.
I watched a community come to life right before my eyes.
As I reflect on the weekend, these are the five things I'll carry with me.
Community Happens Because Someone Says Yes.

Every woman who attended made a choice.
Some booked flights.
Some drove for hours.
Some took the train.
Many came alone.
None of those decisions were easy.
It takes courage to spend money on yourself, to travel somewhere unfamiliar, and to walk into a room where you may not know a single person. But that's exactly what made the weekend so special. Every woman who crossed that threshold had already done something brave before the event even began.
By the end of the evening, something beautiful had happened. Women who had introduced themselves with a nervous smile were hugging goodbye like old friends. Phone numbers were exchanged. Plans for future dinners, trips, and meetups were already being made. Conversations that started over cocktails turned into connections that I know will continue long after the last champagne glass was cleared.
Community doesn't magically appear.
It's built one "yes" at a time.
Every RSVP, every train ticket, every packed suitcase, and every moment of vulnerability helped create something that simply wouldn't have existed if everyone had stayed home.

Our Lives Deserve to Be Celebrated, Too.

One of the reasons I wanted to create RICH SINK LIFE is because I realized how much energy, money, and excitement women pour into celebrating everyone else's milestones.
We book flights for weddings without hesitation. We happily split Airbnb costs for bachelorette weekends, buy baby shower gifts, attend bridal showers, and celebrate engagement parties because we've been taught those are life's biggest moments.
And they absolutely deserve celebrating.
But somewhere along the way, many of us internalized the idea that if our lives don't follow that traditional script, there isn't much to celebrate. I couldn't disagree more.
Our lives are filled with adventures, meaningful careers, incredible friendships, financial independence, quiet mornings, passport stamps, chosen family, personal growth, and the freedom to build a life that reflects who we truly are.
That deserves a celebration simply because a life built intentionally is worth raising a glass to.
Representation Matters More Than We Realize.

There was one moment during the evening when I looked around the room and quietly took it all in.
Forty women.
All with different stories.
Different careers.
Different backgrounds.
Different reasons for being single or childfree.
And, everyone belonged.
There is something profoundly healing about walking into a room where no one asks when you're getting married, why you don't have children, or whether you'll "change your mind." For one evening, those questions simply didn't exist.
Instead, conversations centered around travel, careers, books, hobbies, dreams, friendships, and the lives we are actively creating.
That kind of representation matters.
Because when we can see ourselves reflected in other women who are living full, joyful, meaningful lives, it reminds us that our own life isn't the exception.
It's simply another beautiful way to live.
Perfection Isn't What People Remember.
If you know me, you know I've already replayed the event a hundred times in my head.
I forgot the name tags.
I wish I had put conversation starters or friendship bracelet supplies on the tables.
I wish I had taken photobooth pics with every single attendee. I want to cherish this forever!

As a host, that's where my brain naturally goes. I immediately start looking for ways to improve because I want every experience to be even better than the last.
We completely deserve that.
But as I read everyone's messages afterward, something became very clear.
No one mentioned the name tags.
No one cared that I didn't make it into every photo.
What they remembered was how they felt.
They remembered laughing until their cheeks hurt (ie: "That's Liquor!"). They remembered finally meeting women who understood their lives without explanation. They remembered feeling welcomed, celebrated, and seen.
That's what people carry home with them.
Connection.
And honestly, that's a lesson I'll take with me far beyond this event.
This Is Only the Beginning for our Single and Childfree Community
Hosting RICH SINK LIFE was one of the greatest honors of my life. It confirmed something I've believed for a very long time.

Single and childfree women are hungry for community and for a place where they can be seen, safe supported and SPECIAL!
We're looking for spaces where we don't have to explain ourselves. Places where our lives aren't treated as a backup plan or a consolation prize, but as something joyful, rich, meaningful, and worthy of celebration.
To every woman who trusted me enough to buy a ticket, book a flight, drive for hours, or simply show up... thank you.
Thank you for believing in this vision before you even knew exactly what it would become.
Thank you for choosing yourself.
I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to the incredible team at Lucie and The Colonnade Hotel, our generous sponsors, our videographer, Fun Photo Flips, After the Tone, and my amazing assistant Josh. This evening truly took a village, and each of you helped create an experience that I'll never forget.
And if there's one thing this weekend taught me, it's this:
We're just getting started.
I already have pages of notes, new ideas, and even bigger dreams for next year. We'll take everything we learned, continue to grow, and keep creating experiences that remind single and childfree women that they don't have to wait for someone else's milestone to celebrate their lives.
Their lives are already worthy.
And after this weekend, I believe that more than ever.

You Belong HERE!
If reading this made you wish you could have been in that room, I want you to know: this community is not just about one event. RICH SINK LIFE was a glimpse of what happens when single and childfree women come together with intention, curiosity, and a willingness to connect.
And the best part? This is just the beginning.
The Single and Childfree Network membership opens again in September (CLICK HERE), and I would love to welcome you into the next chapter. Whether you're looking for new friendships, travel companions, meaningful conversations, or simply a place where you don't have to explain your life choices, there is a space for you here.
Because you don't have to wait for someone else to celebrate your life. You don't have to wait for a partner, children, or a traditional milestone to find belonging. Your life is happening right now and you deserve a community that sees, supports, and celebrates it.
