Anger is a SYMPTOM not a problem

“You have anger issues”⠀

“You need to go to anger management”⠀

“You’re bipolar”⠀

And the messy aftermath of an angry outburst floods through with shame and guilt. And RESENTMENT. “I should have known better”...in comes the narrative of: I’m not good enough, I suck, etc. ⠀

The resentment is felt so deeply, it gets projected outwardly in like an external protest hoping, wishing, wanting seeking comfort and protection away from the most unmanageable parts of the self. ⠀

As if it’s saying: PLEASE SEE ME AND MY UNMET NEEDS AND CARE FOR ME GODDAMNIT. ⠀

But the inverse actually happens. People are pushed farther away, provoked to criticize and add gasoline to an already five alarm blaze. ⠀

This cycle is vicious and painful. Unpacking and addressing shame and resentment is so very painful.⠀

Anger is armor. Not crazy. ⠀

Just know that hurt people, hurt. People.⠀
